Sweet Summertime

Well, hey everybody!

It's been a while - 5 weeks to be exact - since I last posted. I sincerely apologize for the brief hiatus, but I think it was a good thing.

The month of April was absolutely insane. After my birthday, I was responsible for getting KD Mom's Weekend together, and that ended up being much more of an undertaking than I expected. My committee was chock-full of total rockstars and we pulled it off!

In between all that fun stuff, I accepted a summer internship for a bank in Memphis! I'm so grateful and excited for this opportunity and cannot wait to be around all of my peeps in the 901 all summer long. We're already planning Monday-night dinner + Bachelorette dates! I'm not really into the whole Bachelor/Bachelorette scene, but if everyone is crazy about it, it must be good, right?

The following weekend, Rhodes had Rites of Spring. Ya girl was FRONT ROW T-PAIN and it was absolutely AMAZING. I had a bruise on my stomach for almost two weeks from being shoved into the guard rail and my grandmother's pearl earring was lost in between having my hair pulled numerous times (people were being really pushy - literally - to get to the front), but the show, and the entire weekend really, was so much fun.

The following weekend was pretty much the last "going-out" weekend of the school year, so I grabbed a bunch of girlfriends and hit the row! My friend Jordan and I (she's the one who sat with me in the ER for over 12 hours when I had that nasty stomach bug!) tried Stacks, a brunch place on Poplar, and it was absolutely amazing. We ordered so much food and it was all delicious!

The following weekend, it was finals time. I had so much schoolwork to do, I felt like I was drowning. My grades weren't quite where I wanted them to be, so I decided to stay in and write my papers so that I could focus the remainder of my time studying for accounting and statistics. This would've been a breeze, except my computer crashed - yes, crashed, completely - the day before finals began. Thanks to kind friends who lent me their laptops when they weren't using them, I managed to write 12 pages in one night and was very relieved to have more time to study for my more math-based tests. If I haven't replied to an email or comment, I sincerely apologize! I'm hoping to either repair my computer or bite the bullet and get a new one this week or next.

Although finals kicked my behind, I made it through, and moved out of my dorm the day after I took my ACCOUNTING TEST EVER. I'm subletting a great apartment in Midtown and basically shoved everything in there before jetting off to Nashville to visit my BFF Emily! We tore up the town for the brief 12 hours I was there, and managed to squeeze in a quick 3 hours of sleep before I had to get up and drive to Atlanta on Friday. I had planned on going to Nashville for Beyonce's concert, but she postponed it until October. It's a sore subject to say the least. I heard she postponed it because of a logistics issue, but Bey, this isn't your first rodeo, shouldn't we know how to go on tour by now? #extremelybitterfan. But I have to say, Lemonade is SO. DANG. GOOD!!!

I then swung through Chattanooga to grab my mom, and we headed down because I had a doctor's appointment. I was essentially a mute at that point because I was so tired, but this past weekend, I slept at least 13 hours every night. Yesterday, I woke up at 10 AM and was back in bed - asleep - by 11 AM...whoops. My brother and I made my mom dinner for Mother's Day and had a really low-key night with our family. He's graduating this coming weekend, and heading off to Lehigh in Pennsylvania in the fall! It'll be a weekend of catching up to say the least before heading back to Memphis for the summer next weekend.

How have you been since we last talked?
