#MMGreekWeek Preference Night

Alright, ladies. It's preference round. Bring out the cushy shoes and the waterproof mascara.

Preference is going to be your last chance to interact with the sisters before you submit your final preferences - and their last chance to interact with you before they decide who will receive a bid tomorrow.

DRESS: Xhilaration (old, similar) | NECKLACE: Target (similar) | SHOES: Minnetonka | NAIL COLOR: Essie "Muchi Muchi"

Today, I'd recommend wearing a more formal dress. Think something you'd wear to a casual cocktail party or to a fancy dinner party. I'd also recommend some shoes with height, be that wedges or pumps. Pick something that you can walk in!

You'll likely go to 2-3 houses tonight. It is entirely possible that you will only go to one house (scroll back to yesterday's post for more info on that) too. Preference round is when it's really time to let the chapters see you for you. Seriously, as corny as it sounds, you want them to see who you really are. It is your best shot to end up in the house that you will feel most at home in.

You will talk to girls you've already talked to before. This will let you skip the "where are you from?" and "Oh! I know so-and-so from there, do you?" and get to the real stuff - what do you want from a Greek experience? Is this chapter going to be able to give it to you? And in turn, how can you contribute to their ideals? Do you see yourself wearing their letters, going to their events, representing them nationally, and calling the girls you are speaking with sisters?

I distinctly remember asking one of the girls I spoke with "why did you choose this house?" and her answer was overwhelming. Every reason she gave me was the reason I wanted to join that house.

At one point, I was tearing up because I wanted to be in that house SO badly. I remember so many girls coming up to me and hugging me because they knew that I wanted them and I kept having to tell myself not to get my hopes up just in case things didn't work out.

After I walked out of the house, I knew that it was where I wanted to be. I wanted to call that place home more than anything in the world, and the next day, I was so blessed and happy to open a bid card and for it to have the crest of the house I now call home.

Well, my friends, this wraps up #MMGreekWeek. I've loved reliving my recruitment experience with you guys, and if you have any questions at all, please feel free to email me or tweet me (@vic_norris) with the hashtag #MMGreekWeek. I hope you've enjoyed this series!
