What to wear to work as a teenager

Although my teenage years are winding down (...going to be 20 soon and that's slightly terrifying), I think finding an office appropriate but age appropriate outfit can be slightly challenging.

I've spent my summer with a bunch of middle-aged men. And before you can furrow your brows in concern, let me explain.

Our family business is refractory. If you don't know what that is, don't sweat it - I've only met two people in my entire life who did. But one of the employees, the employee who handles payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other things like that is retiring, and my job was to shadow him and make a manual of all of his tasks.

So, when I showed up in mid-June, I realized that I would need to find a way to make my wardrobe appropriate to fit the office mold, but still integrate my own personal style without going overboard.

In short, print mixing became my best friend.

Plays on neutrals are great places to start. Although I've never been one to shy away from a bright color...or 3...sometimes a good neutral with a pop of print is just the right thing to mix professional and youthful.
