I'd like to take a moment this Monday morning to throw down a little love for the 'noog.

You probably know it as Chattanooga.

Chattanooga in the summertime, although ridiculously hot, is stunningly beautiful. There aren't a whole lot of cities in this world that can boast mountains, lakes, rivers, and valleys within their own city limits.

I know I've mentioned this before, but I am truly lucky to have grown up in a hometown that holds all of these beauties and they are all so accessible. When it's sunny and 85, even for just a day before it goes back to 95, you've got to go out and enjoy the scenery.

This pier was built about 10-15 years ago for the Tennessee Aquarium's River Gorge Explorer ship (I've heard that tour is the most gorgeous thing in the fall!). The names that you see feature some of the names of the donors who helped make the pier possible. In my opinion, there is a sense of community here that is unrivaled by anywhere else.

There is a fine balance between small town and big city, and to me, Chatt nails that balance on the head.

You know, that balance where we're big enough to get a J. Crew but small enough that everyone can still know your business if they want to. ;)

Just a bit of 'nooga love for ya on this Monday morning. Come back later for a post on where to go/what to eat in Chatt!

  13. You look super cute and thanks so much for sharing more about why you love "nooga"! We have thought about making a weekend trip out there and taking our kiddos to the aquarium so when we head that way, I will have to get some additional recommendations!

  16. I loved all the pictures (outfit & of your town) and I do envy you for living in a place that's got so much natural beauty. I grew up in Redondo Beach so I was close to an ocean (not mountains) and then I moved to Tucson for UoA and ended up staying but now all I have is desert & mountains. It definitely took some getting used to that's for sure so I truly love the look of CHATTANOOGA! xx
