Let's talk New Years.

You know how everybody has that one holiday that they just can't stand? The one that they dread and get a little bitter about? For me, that's New Year's Eve.

I HATE New Years. I just hate it. I think Ms. Hallie Wilson summed it up pretty nicely when she equated New Year's Eve to getting your nails done, in that it's "a lot of prep work, a sh*tload of money, and ultimately, a slightly disappointing experience."

2014 ended on a bit of a rocky note. There are a lot of things that are up in the air right now, and I'm one of those people who gets really anxious if everything isn't solidly on the ground.

So, 2015 is here. It isn't 2014 anymore. I know that a lot of people have major goals and last year even I did, and I catalogued them month by month.

But this year, my goal is simple - to be happy.

After being home for a much too brief Christmas break (YAY swimming), I had a talk with my parents, and they emphasized that that's all they really want for me, and that every decision I make needs to be aimed towards that end goal - happiness. There are a lot of choices I have to make soon, and I'll admit that they've been weighing on me. So, this year, the goal is to just attain a sense of peace with myself and my life.

Happy New Year.
