A Tour Through Blogland

I pinky promise that this isn't one of those awful chain posts! I mean, it is a chain post, but this one is actually cool, y'all.

Corbin nominated me for this (she's seriously the sweetest!), and from here, it's my job to answer a few questions and then nominate three other bloggers!

1. What are you working on?
My biggest project right now is getting tons and tons of gift guides up and running in time for last-minute holiday shopping. (You can check out all of the ones I've done to date here!) I'm usually horrible at finding good presents for people, so I scour gift guides on the Internet anytime a holiday is coming up.

2. How does my work differ from others in its genre?
I think I have a unique perspective on a lot of my subject matter. I'm a full time college student, a student-athlete, a member of a sorority, and occasionally I sleep too. ;) But in all seriousness, I think that by bringing in different topics like politics, academics, and athletics, and not being afraid to be completely honest separates me from the crowd. It's really easy to get caught up in blogging for money or for followers, and I think that a lot of the time you can get lost in the wave of people who have nothing of meaning to say.

My blog is a space where I can talk about anything and everything. Of course I try to keep it professional, but sometimes I just need to write down how I feel about something. Be it Amendment One, police brutality, or what I'm wearing that day, there are so many things going on in the world that I think we just need to hash out in a safe space.

So much love for all these goofy teammates :)

3. Why do I write/create what I do?
I have never been a quiet person. I've always been one of those people who has something to say, but as the stress of high school started piling up, I realized I needed a space for me to do that. So, I created this blog in the midst of college applications as a place where I could write for me. There were so many people asking me to write for them, whether they were a teacher or a school, and I just wanted a place where I could write freely - no prompt, no word limit, no grade.

This transformed into sharing all sorts of things, like fashion & beauty and my shoulder story. It's also a place where I can look back and remember everything about my life right now because it's all recorded digitally on this little corner of the internet.

Now, this place has evolved into something that really motivates me. Of course, it's a great study break, but seeing how it has grown has given me self confidence and drive to take it to the next level. I found myself lacking motivation in many aspects of my life when I started MM, and having something to work for that has such tangible rewards has helped so much.

4. How does my writing/creative process work?
There is no rhyme or reason to anything I do on here - and I think that's why I like it. If you know me in real life, you know that I am very regimented. I have to do things a certain way with my schoolwork and with my daily routine, and here, I don't.

In terms of coming up with topics, I usually see something on other blogs, social media, or experience something that triggers an idea.

I try to write most of my posts for the week on Sundays, and usually take my outfit photos then too (shoutout to my wonderful roomie who takes all the pictures for me!). But, sometimes homework life gets in the way and that just doesn't happen.

Thank you all for taking the time to read what I have to say. Sometimes it's just nice to know someone out there is listening.

And now, for the three ladies I would like to nominate, Hunter, Julia, and Taylor!

I've worked with Hunter several times, and she's always been wonderful. She's friendly, considerate, and follows through on her word. Not to mention, look at her GORGEOUS hair!

Julia and I are working on something exciting (stay tuned!!) and she's already been so fun to get to know! She is a senior in high school, and I started my blog when I was dealing with all those fun college apps too. She's so sweet and down to earth and I can't wait for y'all to see what we have in store for you!

Last week, Taylor and I did a fashion swap, and it was definitely a challenge! She exudes cool confidence, something I really envy her for. She was also wonderful to work with, and I can't wait to see her blog take off!

Thanks again to Miss Corbin for tagging me in this - and thanks to you all for making MM possible.

xx, Victoria
