#MM Linkup

Thanksgiving is coming up quickly! I'm so excited to get to go home in 15 days (not that I'm counting or anything...)!

In my family we don't really dress up for Thanksgiving. I've spent many in my yoga pants and a sweatshirt (because the stretchier the pants the better), but if I were to dress up, I think I'd put a little bit of makeup on.

I've used pretty much the same eye-makeup look for a few years now because it just works for everything. Any event, be it a date, a dance, class, you name it, a light and neutral eye that can be built on it super easy and works for everything.

I started with this huge palette from Sephora (see the newest version of it here). I received this for Christmas about 4 years ago and it's still going strong. I mainly use the eyeshadows in here, but the lip colors are fun to play around with too!

First things first, a color that will neutralize my eye. Basically, I use a very light shade with a hint of shimmer to go on my entire eye. This will make everything the same color, cover up any veins, and serve as the highlighter too.

Next, I take one that's a shade darker (diagonally behind the color my brush is pointing to) and sweep that all over my eyelid.

After that, I take a dark brown shade and smudge that in my crease. You can also use it as your eyeliner if you want more gentle definition. I do that for daytime events generally, and it's super easy with a smudge brush!

Clearly our dorm mirror (and faulty shades) are glamorous ;)

I finish it off with some cream concealer under my eyes and a little bit of pink gloss!

Be sure to head to Corbin and Laura Leigh's blogs (The Classy South and Louella Reese respectively!) to see the other submissions to their linkup! Happy Monday!
