Let's Get Down to Business

...to defeat the Huns. Or a presentation. You choose.

Today, I have my first college presentation, and I'm a bit nervous. I absolutely love my professor, but she's a pretty tough grader. One of the things that I've noticed while others were doing their presentations (I'm the last one in our class to go...) is that the class listened more to the ones who dressed up a little. In other words, they paid more attention to the girl in a dress than the girl in sweatpants and a t-shirt.

My goal was to look appropriate, be comfortable, and look like the 18-year-old I am. In came the peplum skirt. As opposed to just a plain black pencil skirt, this one is super flattering, comfortable, and lets me get away with not having my shirt perfectly tucked in all the time.

Another bonus - this Marley Lilly clutch. It can be worn as either a clutch or a cross body, but for today a clutch will do! It's a great size for all the essentials - wallet, keys, phone, etc., and since it's monogrammed people don't pick it up by mistake! Trust me - it survived a bunch of high school dances and that's an impressive feat in itself.

Add a fun necklace, watch, and wrap bracelet, and you're ready to present the heck out of something.

Gap Shirt | Target Skirt | Marley Lilly Clutch | Essie Nail Polish | Marc Jacobs Watch | Chan Luu Bracelet | Lucky Brand Flats | Elea Blake Lipstick

PS - don't forget to have fun!
