Stress Breakouts

So, the week before last was midterms. It was my first experience with midterms, and my skin definitely took a hit for it.

To be clear, I was still following my skincare routine, but being so stressed just made my skin explode.

It's finally starting to calm back down (can I get an amen?), and here's why:

One // A stronger cleanser.
I swear by Cetaphil's Gentle Skin Cleanser, but when my skin starts to get a little bumpy, it needs something more powerful. My dermatologist recommended Aveeno's Clear Complexion Cream Cleanser with Salicylic Acid.

Two // Adios, makeup.
In my defense, everyone was looking super rough. It was one of those weeks where I just went with it. My skin got to breathe, I rocked my glasses all week long, and it just happened. And honestly, my skin did better for it. It got better as the week went on because it wasn't under anything.

Three // Bring on the lotion.
The colder it gets (who am I kidding, it's still 70 degrees here...) or the more time I spend in a chlorinated pool, the drier and drier my skin gets. Another factor to consider is upping the strength of my cleanser - it has a stronger acne medication in it, and most of them are drying. Adding another layer of lotion (noncomedogenic of course!) helps get rid of the acne without leaving my face like a sheet of sandpaper.
