Last Minute Halloween

Happy Halloween! Personally, I'm heading to a swim meet tonight so I won't get to partake in all these festivities, but I know that many of you might be scrambling to find something to wear tonight that won't be too expensive. Lucky you, because I have three options for ya today!

One // Burlesque
Burlesque

You probably already have your favorite LBD and lipstick handy, so swing by Target and get a pair of fishnet tights! I got a pair for a 1920's themed swap for $4.

Two // Game Show Contestant

If you're a fan of shows like Survivor or The Amazing Race, now's the time to show it! Best part is you probably already own everything you need for this costume. Throw your hair up in either a messy bun or braid and rub a little dirt on your body, and you'll be good to go!

Three // Hipster

Hipster

That ugly/strange shirt your mom won't ever let you wear? Tonight's the night to use it. Wear a shirt that you wouldn't normally be caught dead in and some high-waisted shorts that don't go with it at all. Hit up thrift stores or inexpensive/trendy stores like Forever 21, ASOS, or the like to find things like this. Throw on some sneakers and you're out the door!

I hope these ideas help y'all who are running around trying to throw something together! If we get back from the meet in time tomorrow, I might be using some of these ideas myself.

Have a safe and happy Halloween!

To the Library

The Rhodes library is notoriously cold. Even though it isn't exactly cold outside, inside that library, whew! Freezing.

The solution is a lightweight scarf (can you tell that I really like them?), a cozy sweater, and some super comfy jeans.

The $6 Red Lip

Yeah, you read that correctly.

Alright, so I'm just going to get this out of the way now - lipstick terrifies me.

I always feel like I look like I'm either trying too hard or I'm a clown, and neither of those are exactly great feelings.

Every time I go to Target, I end up in the beauty aisle where e.l.f. products are. I've always liked their lines because they are affordable and most of them are pretty good products.

e.l.f. Studio Matte Lip Color in Rich Red | e.l.f Studio Lip Exfoliator

I'd seen the lip exfoliator floating around Pinterest (follow me here!) and was SO EXCITED when I finally found one in stores! It's the coolest little thing ever and I can't believe it's only $3!

After that, two coats of the matte lip color and I'm good to go!

Another thing you can do is use some whitening strips, and my personal favorites are the Crest's 3D Luxe Whitestrips. I hate, hate, hate whitening my teeth, but the red lip looks a million times better with pearly whites!

Sweater Weather

One day it might get cold in Memphis. One day.

Until then, a lightweight sweater dress and my favorite leopard flats will do!

Since it's still a whopping 85 degrees, but I want to wear my fall clothes so. badly. I threw on a lightweight scarf my mom gave me to add some color. And of course, my trusty Longchamp always does the trick for the perfect multipurpose tote.

Who needs to know that I wear this outfit twice a week? Monday - Wednesday - Friday classes don't need to know about my Tuesday - Thursday life.
