Lilly vs. Kate

I caved. I know that I mentioned that I was only going to get the Lilly Pulitzer agenda in "Lilly Lovers," but...I wanted both. I ventured to a local boutique and picked up the Medium Kate Spade Agenda in "Painterly Cheetah."

It was a good decision.

Nonetheless, I wanted to share my feelings on each of them because I know that many of you haven't yet decided between the two preppy queens.

$28 for a large | several bright, fun prints | ample space in which to write assignments, appointments, and reminders | spiral bound, after wear-and-tear becomes stretched out

$30 for a medium | sophisticated, streamlined, less busy | witty sayings | moderate space to coordinate various appointments, lists, and assignments | solid spine that will not rip or become unhinged

The closing arguments
Lilly is a better bargain. More space, less money. However, I am drawn to the simplicity of Kate as a simplified version of the bright and cheery prints in the Lilly. The Kate Spade agenda is beautiful, there is no question about that. Yet, its price is almost a deterrent when compared with the Lilly Pulitzer equal. The large Kate Spade and the large Lilly Pulitzer are approximately the same size (I compared them in the store). Kate boasts a smaller font size than the Lilly.

Who wins?

For school, Lilly. For social events & blogging, Kate.

*The photo of the Lilly Pulitzer agenda does include my planned blog posts for each day. I planned these prior to purchasing the Kate Spade agenda, and transferred them into the KS one after purchasing it.

PS - the #backtobeauty linkup doesn't close for another 3 weeks, so if you didn't make it on Saturday, don't sweat it! You can still join!
