LTB

Lift, tone, burn.

Last year, my friend Ellen started Pure Barre and she convinced me to go with her. Impressed by how toned she had become in such a short time, I decided to join her.

However, I was not prepared for what was about to happen. I was extremely confused about what was going on, and I hated it.

I didn't understand why we were doing these tiny, tiny movements, when every other workout I had done before was focused on making these huge movements and having as big of a range of motion as possible.

Fast forward 10 months, and I was ready to try it again. I went with my mom, who let's just say is in her 50s and can do the splits (yeah...insane), so I was once again intimidated. However, she had purchased a package of classes for me, and I didn't want them to go to waste, so I decided that I would go until the package expired.

Little did I know that soon I would be hooked. I saw on Instagram that if you attended 20 classes in a row (or go for 20 days consecutively), you would get to sign a barre and have your picture taken and posted on social media.

Being the social media nut that I am, this may or may not have motivated me to take on the challenge of getting to 20 classes in a row. Sunday, I achieved it!

You can't beat proof like that. These pictures aren't edited at all, not even lighting.

Fortunately, there are a few studios in Memphis, so I can continue my addiction when I leave in a little over a month *gulp*.
