{Video} New Year

In my opinion, New Year isn't in January. It's in August.

A fresh planner is one of the best things about heading back to school, and this year is no exception.

How do you organize your agenda? I want to know!

Girl In A Country Song

If I could describe what country music is about in 3 words, I'd say: girls, beer, and trucks.

For all of high school (who am I kidding, even today) I was in love with Luke Bryan. Attractive, can sing, and man, can that guy shake it. He was hot. So I obsessively listened to all of his music, watched all of his music videos, and even saw him live (BEST. NIGHT. EVER.).

But as my all-girls high school would have it, I've been a lot more tuned in to the sexist ways of today's society. And this video is awesome for pointing it out in country music. It directly calls out my man Luke and his buddy Jason Aldean, but does so in a lighthearted way.

Basically, these girls don't want to see the objectification that's in country music anymore. In a genre of girls who are expected shake it or go down till the sun comes up, Maddie & Tae say they don't want to be your tan little thing or be expected to wear skimpy clothes, and they're so right. Why on earth should they?

Props to Maddie & Tae. What a great start to their career, am I right?!

Tupelo Honey Café

What: Tupelo Honey Café

Where: Warehouse Row, Market Street

With: A future Rhodes teammate! :)

Wearing: A Gap blouse (similar), chino shorts, Jack Rogers sandals

Recommendations: Outdoor seating. All the breakfast. Home fries. Grits. Biscuits. Mint tea.

*I failed to mention this in my previous post on a restaurant. This post is inspired by Mackenzie Horan of Design Darling, and features restaurants that I frequent and like in the Chattanooga area.

"Kisses sweeter than tupelo honey / little bit crazy like New Orleans / Memphis blue and Daytona sunny / soft as cotton in some cut-off jeans / don't ya know / ain't nothin' in the whole wide world / like a Southern girl" - Tim McGraw, "Southern Girl"

Beauty Brag {Almay CC Cream}

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Some days I'm just plain lazy and some days I want to look somewhat decent but I don't want to put too much effort in.

I had tried BB creams before, and maybe I picked the wrong ones, but they weren't my go-to beauty product.

I snagged Almay's CC Cream in Fair/Light, and I like it! The only downside is that it leaves my face a little shinier than I would like, but I don't really have to use concealer with it, making it an all-in-one product. Another bonus is that it's under $10!

Here's how it looks on my skin:

If I'm feeling ambitious I'll swipe a little powder on top to mattify. I'm thinking that this may become my everyday makeup look when school rolls around (but really, have you started your #backtobeauty post yet?!)...

Vloggers We Love

It's no secret I love YouTube. I make videos, watch them all the time, and today I'm excited to bring you another favorite Vlogger - Catlin Bea.

Reasons why we love her:
1. She keeps it real. She isn't uppity, she isn't fake, and that is a hot commodity on the web these days.
2. Her makeup tutorials are easy to replicate and use high quality, but accessible products.
3. She's BFFs with SarahBelle93x and those two are hilarious together!

The other weekend, my friends Lauren & Emily and I ventured down to Dawsonville, Georgia to go shopping. I had never been to their outlet malls there before, but I was really impressed by the variety and quality of the stores. I hit up the Polo Ralph Lauren, J. Crew, Brooks Brothers, Saks, Tommy Hilfiger, etc. outlets and scored a bunch of awesome stuff at humongous discounts.

If you're in the North Georgia/Tennessee area I definitely recommend making the trek down there because it's so worth it.

Anyways, we went down there, and afterwards went into Atlanta for some Korean Barbecue (Emily is Korean). It was my first time experiencing Korean BBQ, and man, was it good! They had a small grill of sorts built into the table, so we got to watch our food cook in front of us. My eyes were burning from the smoke, but my taste buds were so happy that I didn't care.

My apologies for the blurry pictures, but how cool is that in-table grill?!

It was awesome to spend some time with them and get some clothes for school. It'll be so weird not wearing a uniform to school anymore come August!
