5 Apps Every High School Student Needs

There are some apps (all available through Apple's App Store) that are just amazingly useful in high school. These 5 apps range from business to pleasure, and I use them all every single day!

1. New York Times or CNN
I'm partial to these two, but any news app will suffice in this category. By having a news app, you can stay up to date on what's happening in the world, even if you don't have time to actually watch the news every day. Downloading a news app makes you a more educated person since you're aware of what's going on in the world.

2. The Weather Channel
For me, the regular weather app that is pre-programmed on the iPhone just doesn't cut it for me. I prefer a little bit of a more detailed weather report, especially when I'm lifeguarding (radar maps = lifesavers). This will come in handy especially as I travel to and from college next year!

3. Banking App
I recently found out that my own bank account had been tampered with. This was a tough learning experience, but I realized that this could have been prevented if I had monitored my bank accounts closely. Nowadays, most banks have an app that you can download to keep tabs on your money. You can deposit checks and pay bills from most, so I highly recommend looking into the app store to see if your bank provides an app!

4. Flashlight
With the new iOS7 update, the iPhones have an automatic flashlight built in, but for those who refuse to update or for those who feel that the standard flashlight app is actually brighter, the flashlight app is a must. It's one of those apps you don't know you need until you need it, but it's always good to be prepared, and it is so useful.

5. Netflix
Come on. It's awesome. You can watch series upon series (my current favorite is One Tree Hill!) and movies galore (even documentaries for school for free!).

Hope these help y'all!
